A mother's wish Today I watched you play in the snow I remmebered my days there so very long ago You built up your fort and stocked up on balls ready for any invader to protect these walls You brought reinforcements or so you made them believe you fooled them you stinker always a trick up your sleeve You had so much fun and I remembered the years where me and my friends enjoyed life without cares Whack! Ha! I got you! What's the name of this game? childhood... that's it the one and the same Those days are too numbered and fly by much to fast like the snowflakes in winter and the memories of past Remember them fondly keep them close to your heart one day your own children will build their first fort You will sit back and sigh and think of this day when you thought of nothing but playing it away Fond memories of play time and quiet times too like the park and the ball field or a day at the zoo. Be good to yourselves and each other as well speak kindly and softly there is no need to yell Enjoy every moment fill them with love feed them with kindness give them light from above God gave you to me and he gave me to you There is no one more special than each of you.
