Which one are you???

Okay so things are never what they seem. The most obvious is not going to ever be the most upfront and secure. In order to understand completely what I am referring to you might have to learn a little about yourselves first. So let us start with the most upfront and blunt of questions.
If you were confronted with someone that you simply don’t want to be near would you be able to be truthful and polite in the same instance?
Do you know what is hiding within your heart?
Are you ready to face advisory after advisory when you believe in something strongly and completely?
Can you look yourself in the face and say you are a good person without looking away?
Have you had to take responsibility for actions that are not yours but you do simply because it is easier than demanding the other person to do so?
Are you true to yourself?

Now that I have asked some difficult questions and you have your answers in your head what would happen if one of your friends was being accused of stuff you know is not true and would not ever be true? Can you stand up for your friend and your beliefs? Are you strong enough to be a true friend and not a follower?

Followers in life will not stand up for their friends no matter what they believe or know. They will do exactly what a follower does; they will follow the group simply to be part of that group. A follower will not stand alone or beside their friends. They will betray each and every single friend simply to be part of the larger group. This type of person is not a bad person but will be alone for a very very long time through out their lives. They will never have a true friend nor will they ever be able to feel free and good about their friendships. They are not bad people to be near but can be very lonely and withdrawn.

I am not saying that followers are people to stay away from but they do have their own faults as do the leaders in life; or the drifters. Now for the drifters; they will not provide a stable front for their friends because they don’t know they are hurting themselves by not being committed to anything or anyone. They are generally very kind and generous people with their time and will be stand offish with most everyone. They are for the most part people with a lot of knowledge about life and adventure but seldom stick around when the tough get rolling in. again they are not bad people just different in their own rights and strong in their convictions of solitude.

Now comes the leaders in life. The people that will stand up for what they believe in and fight for it tooth and nail. They know what they believe and make sure they are not mistaken in their convictions ever. These folks will stand in front of the friend being attacked and say “oh no you don’t do that to MY friend” or right beside that friend through out the toughest of times. These people can be pushy with their beliefs and knowledge but seldom leave a stone unturned when it comes to one of their own. They are the backbone in most relationships and often are seen at the forefront of any confrontation. They will lead a group to disaster or to victory whenever possible. They may not be right all the time but for the most part they are strong in their beliefs. Many of these people are charismatic and can hold an audience’s attention to establish their debate and strength. Many of them will openly admit when they are wrong or wronged and talk things out with care and diplomacy.
Okay now that I have established my thoughts on matter where do you stand from your own answers in the first set of questions? Are you a follower; drifter; or a leader?

Follow your heart and you wont be lead astray…….

Girl..... thanks for the inspiring words. I have missed these kind of posts.

When I think of what kind of person I am the only words that can explain me and my compassion for my friends is of course compassion, but loyality and love.....And I mean sisterly love!

OK so you know I am not good with this "self evaluation" thing. So I will do this systematically so that I hopefully cover all the questions.

  I would hope so... I have always been one to try and pick my words very carefully. Sometimes I rephrase something in my head more than a dozen times before it finally reaches the surface. Most often it is important to be civil, and I feel that in my years... I have gotten very skilled at that.
  
• Do you know what is hiding within your heart?
  Nothing any more. I searched my heart and have decided to follow it 100%. Because of this searching... there is nothing hiding there... at least not from me.
  
• Are you ready to face advisory after advisory when you believe in something strongly and completely?
  Well in some forms I would say that yes I am ready to face any adversary that comes my way. Especially where it comes to defending those I love. I will back out of the way if I am the cause or a major issue in the conflict, but should that not solve the conflict then each and every one had better be prepared to deal with me. I will not stand for anyone hurting my family.
  
• Can you look yourself in the face and say you are a good person without looking away?
  I am still working on getting to know the person in the mirror, but yes I do believe that I am a good person, and that I follow what I believe to be right and good.
  
• Have you had to take responsibility for actions that are not yours but you do simply because it is easier than demanding the other person to do so?
  HMMM... I believe you already know the answer to this question... Yes I have taken responsibility for others' actions because it is better than arguing and trying to make them see it. It can often be more painful to all parties involved for one to make sure that the other knows their own responsibility in the situation.
  
• Are you true to yourself?
  I am learning to do so. By following my heart I will become closer and closer to being true to myself in all things rather than just in some.
  

What would happen if one of your friends was being accused of stuff you know is not true and would not ever be true? Can you stand up for your friend and your beliefs? Are you strong enough to be a true friend and not a follower? <<<Well, I guess my first response is BTDT... and will again should the need ever arise. I will not follow the gossip train, believe outside of my heart nor will I allow a group of people to sway what I know to be true.

As far as what I am??? All I know is this. I am not a follower, because I cannot live life based on what others believe. I may have been one at one time but was never happy. I chose to say to people... people have the right to their own opinions. I don't have to agree with yours any more than you do with mine-- but I do want respect that it is my own and right by my heart. A drifter.... hmmm to me a drifter is a follower with no commitment on who they are actually following. They don't seem to have the ability to make any choices of their own. A leader... hmmm well maybe, but am not very sure on this. I prefer to think of myself as someone with leadership quality but who knows when it is time to just be "part of the team". There are times when the best way to lead... is by taking someone else's. Even the leaders must follow sometimes. It is important to know that during the times that one is following; they don't step down from their own morals, convictions, beliefs, and desires.
